On Sunday, October 28, we celebrated the Journey of Peace at Assisi Heights as our ninth annual gathering of many faith traditions to increase consciousness and awareness of how we are all walking on the same path of creating more peace in our world.
This year was unique because it was led by the young people of our community sharing stories on contemporary issues in our world today. Through their personal stories, we broaden our understanding of the movement of March of our Lives; domestic abuse and women’s shelter; immigration; importance of voting; mental health issues and acceptance of all peoples regardless of gender, faith, or color.
The event was a powerful message of encouraging hope in the midst of all that is happening today.
Sister Joan Brown participated in a webinar on the issue of Climate Change. You can find the recording and slides here.
A copy of the Sister Edith Zamboni’s book “VIEWS from the Inside Out,” is now available in the Community Room library. This book of poems is a very limited edition; a thanksgiving gift to personal friends of Sister Edith from years back. There aren’t enough copies for all of her Sister friends, but for those who would like to see a copy, one is now available. If you would like your own copy, let Sister Edith know, and, if possible, she will try to oblige.
