Land Acknowledgment Ceremony featured on KTTC-TV. Sister Marlys Jax was interviewed. (Sadly, the reporter replaced “Sisters of Saint Francis” from all of our documents, with “Saint Francis of Assisi.” Hopefully, most will have understood!) https://www.kttc.com/2023/10/06/st-francis-assisi-teams-up-with-dakota-tribe-land-acknowledgement-ceremony/
Sister LaDonna Maier was recognized in the Grand Valley Catholic Outreach newsletter, Grand Junction, Colorado. “Forty years ago, Sr. LaDonna Maier, OSF… used her lunch hour to open the back door of the convent and offer lunch to the men and women who had lined up there because they were hungry.” That was the beginning of the Grand Valley Catholic Outreach. Thank you, Sister LaDonna for your foresight in creating this wonderful organization that carries on to this day!
