Hearing and Making Music in Francis’ Song of the Creatures: Can You Hear Creation Sing? presented by John Petrikovic.
We celebrate 800 Years of Francis’s Canticle of the Creatures, the Creatures’ Canticle. Each element sounds praise by being what it’s created to be. The sun shines, the moon and stars light the night’s sky, water flows and cleanses, and the songs go on including those unforgettable human tunes of forgiveness, bearing adversity and welcoming Sister Death.
Can you hear Creation Sing? In Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Sí (in its own 10th anniversary) envisions a creation intended to delight. We’ll reflect on how the Pope feared we might muddle and distort its song and, maybe, help its song be heard.
This day will include two sessions by John with space for quiet reflection and input that will grace your spirit with inspiration. The first session is at 9:00 am, followed by a Noon luncheon. After lunch, you may take time to reflect on the morning session while you experience the peaceful atmosphere (indoors or outdoors) at Assisi Heights. All will gather again for a final session at 3:00 pm.
Give yourself a gift of time, reflection, and peace.
We hope you will join us!
