Since 2009, Sister Briana McCarthy–a retired Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, educator, and Franciscan–has studied, researched, and written about the two monotheistic religions: Judaism and Islam.
While previous sessions at Assisi Heights have focused on the pro-Palestinian perspective, in this presentation she will share the other side of the Israeli-Arab conflict–from the Jewish perspective.
Conflicts require that BOTH SIDES be heard if truth, based in reality, is to be learned. Beyond the current political and cultural environment, the daily misinformation, and anti-Semitism dynamics, a holistic spiritual mindset could be helpful to fully understand this conflict.
In this slideshow presentation, Sister Briana will cover the historical and spiritual dimensions of the Israeli and the Arab-Palestinian wars, both past and present. Legally established in 1948 by the United Nations, Israel is a tiny country, about the size of New Jersey. This small nation is surrounded by 23 Arab Nations. Why must tiny Israel be eliminated in the eyes of radical Shia leaders? What is the root of such hatred?
Come and explore these questions.
