Sister Maureen Dolan, OSF
Sister Maureen Dolan, 89, a Franciscan Sister of the Congregation of Our Lady of Lourdes, Rochester, Minnesota, died at Assisi Heights on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Maureen Margaret Dolan was born on June 29, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois, to Patrick and Lenore (Earley) Dolan. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis in 1954, received the name of Sister Evin, and made perpetual vows in 1959. She received her Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, in 1977.
Sister Maureen dedicated 51 years to teaching and pastoral ministry. She taught elementary and religious education from 1956 to 1990, and served in pastoral ministry from 1971 to 2007 in Minnesota, Colorado, and Illinois. Her roles included serving as a Sacramental Coordinator at St. Genevieve Parish in Chicago, Illinois, from 1982 to 1984, a Pastoral Associate at St. George Parish in Chicago, Illinois, from 1984 to 1986, and a Hospital Chaplain at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, from 1993 to 2007. After retiring in 2007, Sister Maureen moved to Assisi Heights in 2015.
Survivors of Sister Maureen Dolan include her Franciscan Sisters, with whom she shared life for 70 years, two sisters Denise Forte and Rita Corcoran, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Dolan.
