Franciscan Year of Jubilee
Pope Leo XIV proclaimed a special Franciscan Jubilee Year to Honor St. Francis. The Jubilee officially opened on January 10, 2026, and will conclude on January 10, 2027.
The Pope has instituted this year to encourage the faithful to follow St. Francis’s example of holiness and to act as “tireless witnesses of peace” in an age often defined by division.
The Apostolic Penitentiary has granted a plenary indulgence to those who participate in the Jubilee. This grace is extended to any member of the faithful who makes a pilgrimage to a Franciscan church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world; as well as members of Franciscan orders, and the sick and elderly who participate spiritually from home by offering their prayers and sufferings.
Because of this, we will open the Chapel Doors to the public for prayer on Wednesdays and Thursdays, two hours after the regular Mass time, to commemorate 800 years since the death of St. Francis, and the Franciscan Jubilee Year.
This will be effective on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from Noon to 2 pm, now through July 1, 2026, at which time we will assess continuing this for future months.
Those attending are asked to enter and exit through the Chapel entrance.
