Through the power of storytelling we will be energized by the inherent joy of, “living in a good way with Mother Earth,” with Earth our common home. We will be guided by the wisdom of diverse spiritual traditions that have long linked discipleship with discipline. We will look to Creation for lessons in right living, especially regarding climate change. We will listen deeply to the wisdom of Northern Cheyenne and Crow mothers and grandmothers, who embrace their responsibility to respect Earth. We will renew our personal love of cherished places and our commitments to care for Earth. We will be surprised by joy.
Sister Marya Grathwohl is an Oldenburg, IN Franciscan and has lived more than 30 years in African-American, Crow, and Cheyenne communities as a teacher, principal, and pastoral minister.
