As a renowned teacher of compassion, caregiving and the co-founder of the Zen Hospice Project, Frank Ostaseski has sat on the precipice of death with more than a thousand people. Cathy Ashton has been in vigil with many in the last stages of life, beginning with her family of origin, also at the Federal Medical Center and Mayo Hospice. She completed training with the Spirit Rock Meditation Center, which addressed aging, illness, and dying.
