Millions of kids suffer on the streets every day. For over 40 years, Covenant House has sheltered and cared for these young people- now standing as a powerful human rights movement for homeless and trafficked youth in 31 cities across six countries. Covenant House provides a combination of support strategies, including educational programs, job training and placement, medicals services, mental health and substance abuse counseling, legal aid and beyond. Covenant House helps young people embrace the great promise of their lives, overcome steep barriers to independence, and strive to achieve their aspirations.
Roxane Kadrlik Chlachula is a Minnesota Native, but has lived throughout the U.S. and in the Czech Republic. She has a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies from St. Mary’s University. She served as a full-time volunteer at Covenant House, New York. As a volunteer, she lived in a faith community and committed to a life of daily prayer, Mass and services to homeless youth. She served in various roles in Catholic parishes in Minnesota for over 20 years and worked as a Development Editor for St. Mary’s Press in Winona. In the Czech Republic, she directed Víra v Akci (Faith in Action), a Catholic organization that recruited and trained English teachers to teach in Catholic Schools after the fall of Communism. She currently serves as the Pastoral Associate at Holy Spirit Church in Rochester, Minnesota.
