This 8-week course is for committed Christians and all people of good will.
The sessions will address the essential dimensions of engaging Catholic faith with the social – political aspects of life. We explore the human person, and her/his life of faith in the social, political, economic, and ecological world. Rooted in Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching, the social sciences, and the wisdom gleaned from early Christian witnesses of the faith over the millennia, this course introduces participants to the basics of Catholic social ethics. Guided by major social encyclicals and pastoral letters from across time and across the globe, participants will discover guidelines for actions, creating policies for establishing and sustaining social justice, as well as for perusing reconciliation in an ecologically threatened and violent world.
