The College of St. Teresa came in to existence in 1907. Prior to that date, it was a women’s seminary. The Sisters of St. Francis, Rochester MN, operated the seminary until it closed in 1989. This class focuses on the architectural history and the underlying story of how the College of St. Teresa became one of the premier Catholic women’s colleges in the country.
Ken Allsen is a freelance architectural historian residing in Rochester. He teaches regularly for the RCTC LIFE Program and is author of five books about architectural history in our region. He is a volunteer private detective who may be found searching the crannies of the Olmsted County History Center and/or in the Assisi Heights and Mayo Clinic archives.
