Ramona Miller, Vice-President of the Sisters of St.
Francis, Congregation of Our Lady of Lourdes, Rochester,
MN was elected Vice-President of the Franciscan
Federation at its July 24-27, 2008 annual meeting in
Denver, CO. The Federation is the national organization
of the Third Order Franciscan men and women in the
United States whose roots go back to the thirteenth
century Franciscan penitents. The Federation promotes
the Franciscan Evangelical life and its implications for
these times and the world.
Sister Ramona was elected to leadership for the Rochester
Franciscans in the summer of 2006. Previous to that she
served as the Director of Spiritual Formation and
Director of Field Education at the Franciscan School of
Theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley,
CA. Her ministry experiences include elementary and
secondary education, parochial faith formation and
retreat ministry. Since 1987 she has also served as a
staff member for Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs in
Italy. She earned an MA in ministry in 1983 at Seattle
University and an MA in Franciscan Studies from St.
Bonaventure University in 1992. From 1992-2000 she
served as Program Director at Tau Center, Winona, MN
which included directing a Franciscan Sabbatical
Program. |
